They're born, so helpless, just knowing only how to feed.
They learn slowly, to laugh, to crawl, to walk and to to talk.
They learn each day from their environment, they adapt.
They try different things, see what gets them results.
And anything that gets them what they want, that habit's a keeper.
And how fast they grow, they make you forget how tiny and helpless they started out!
Babies! It's fascinating to watch them grow.
This is what evolution must be like, just on a larger timescale.
